"Faint Little Soul"
by Hanoochi

Native American poetry and inspirational spiritual wisdom by Hanoochi

My soul screams to be touched,
My heart cries to be heard,

Inexplicable strangeness that is not understood.

My silent voice echoes
Into the deep still night,
What is out there? I wonder, Is the Cosmos alright?

Upheavals come and go,
As my soul rides along,
As I gaze skyward and wonder, What is God doing wrong?

Of course I should question,
My humanness now shows,
A faint little soul on the earth here to grow, I know.

I have run out of breath,
No more questions I ask,
Ok - now what God? You've got my attention at last.
