Majestic Flight

by Hanoochi

From across the lake he flies towards us
Wings unfurled with strength and grace
Early morning light reflects
Majestic feathers all in place.

Near enough to hear the feathered wind
bending of the golden claws
This regal flight in dawn's light
Ancient yellow eyes make us pause.

Arching wings rippled with pinpoint flight
Turning sharp talons ready
Dives! Grasps! - from pink lit water
Ascending graceful and steady.
